What is River?
River is a subscription service for your everyday health needs. With River, you can see a doctor when you’re sick, get prescription refills, selected labs, birth control, nutritionist appointments, and more for just $35/month.
How is River different from health insurance?
Health insurance companies make money by paying less in claims than they received in premiums. River is not health insurance. When you pay River, we take a small fee to run the system, and the rest goes to the providers who take care of you. That’s how we can provide complete primary care and more without the need to file claims or pay deductibles.
Where can I find a clinic?
There are over 1000 River partner clinics and urgent care centers across the country. You can find a clinic near you in the River App. You can also use River at any MinuteClinic located in CVS Pharmacies or Target Stores.
Do I get a primary care provider?
Yes. Every River member gets a dedicated primary care provider (PCP). You can communicate with your PCP directly in the River app. Your PCP can see you when you’re sick, write or refill prescriptions, and even order labs.
I don't have insurance, can I use River?
Absolutely. You do not need health insurance to use River. Your subscription pays for the services we provide.
What about prescriptions?
Prescriptions from River are only $5/month and we will even ship it to you. Shipping is free!
What about labs?
Labs through River are $30 or less. There are no hidden fees
Can I see a doctor in-person?
Yes. You can see a doctor at any of our partner clinics and urgent care centers. We have over 1000+ partner locations across the country.
Are there age restrictions?
You must be 18 years and above to sign up for River.
Can I use River with my health insurance?
Your health insurance will not cover your River subscription cost, but you can use River for your everyday health needs if you have a catastrophic or high deductible health plan.
